E-Learning
E-Learning is the structure of a course that is being learned and taught through electronic mediums. Various tools and elements are used for the process of conveying the study content through an online path. Some of them are games, quizzes, recorded lectures, videos, activities, and many such interactive tools. These elements will not just help in making the learning process interactive and interesting, but will also help in deepening the knowledge about a particular content in the minds of students.
An LSM is also known as Learning Management System is used to manage and guide the courses that are being taught in E-Learning. These digital systems and software will help the instructor to effectively curate their online class content.
The process of curating E-Learning content is not the easiest one. It has 4 major processes involved. They are as follows:
- Content evaluation:
The material that is used in E-Learning is often not the same that is used in traditional classes. They are completely different and are often curate based on the course that is being taught. Therefore, before the commencement of the course, a thorough analysis of all the prospective contents in regards to the subject matter must be thoroughly evaluated and analyzed. This will also aid the instructor to better understand the type of content to focus more upon and will teach accordingly.
- Building a storyboard:
The elements that are part of a storyboard generally are objectives, texts, visuals, audio, and other kinds of interactive elements. Making use of a storyboard will be easier to convey the content of the lesson across the class in an easier manner.
There is a need for the instructor to develop a storyboard that is curated consciously following the content being taught in the class, as it will help in a deeper understanding of the topic and will also support more interaction and creativity in the class.
- Prototype creation:
The prototype is the model that is used for representing a particular function or how a course is being conducted online. It is a complete compilation of tests, assessments, graphical usage, audio tools, and other interactive elements. Following the subject and topic covered, it is important to select the prototype. Only then will the process of conveying the content effectively to the students will be successful.
- Course submission:
Once the basic structure of the course has been created, it is important that the content is filled in the right places and a plan is drawn regarding the time frame of the course. After all these initial settings, the course is submitted to the clients in the alpha version.
